Leaning Tower of Stavanger








Leaning Tower Jåttåvågen or Oblique Tower

Facts:
50 - 60 meters high
74 degree gradient
leans 3 times as much as the Leaning Tower of Pisa
seats 80
part of Viking Stadium Conference Center
built in 1984
to prove they could do a diff. angle & thickness
used to make cement in it's cavity until 1994

This year, as perhaps in the past, the Int'l Chamber Music Festival concert was held here today at 12:00 pm - I was lucky enough to buy the last ticket I was told yesterday?!

Besides the music I was there for the view & the photo op - I have wanted to go up the thing since I first lay eyes on it 2 years ago probably...

And so here are my photos for the day--I want to have a party up there?!




























Oh too--no one was allowed to take the stairs up
of course it being Norway somebody did ask
we all had to queque up for the elevator
it was quick though, no time for a photo
& maybe 10 people at a time max
